Cheat Codes will cost you
18 October 2006In a greed play by Electronic Arts (EA), you will have to start paying for cheat codes to popular games like Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2007.
200-300 points for things like unlocking golfers or pro-shops. What is the actual dollar amount? Commenters are saying 200 points is roughly $2.50-$4
On one side, this really sucks for impatient people like me who want to get to the good stuff in a game without putting all our time into it. On the flip side… I agree with Patrick Klepek of 1up.com who states that if you don’t like this idea. then don’t buy the games or the cheats. Chances are.. the cheats will still appear somewhere on the internet. I can see the headlines now…”Gaming industry goes after cheat code distributors” or “Beware: That walkthrough TXT file could cost you thousands”. Come on EA, aren’t cheat codes supposed to be fun little easter eggs? It’s like movie companies charging extra money for DVD’s with director commentary tracks.
